  • 1971
    Thomas became interested in Treasure Hunting.

  • 1975
    Purchased a kit to build his own metal detector.

  • 1980-1984
    During this time Afilani combined, and redesigned different models, ideas, and configurations of treasure hunting instruments.
    Foundation for modern day Electroscope treasure hunting instrument established.

  • 1985-1986
    Electroscopes enters full production and moves to a larger facility, and Electroscopes becomes incorporated.

  • 1987-1989
    Electroscopes sells well over 1,000 units in 1988
    Thomas organizes the Worlds Largest treasure hunt.
    Thomas receives the C-Scope Award for the largest contribution to the sport and hobby of metal detecting.
    Production of new treasure hunting products begin.

  • 1991-1992
    Ver-Tex debuts on treasure hunting market
    Thomas recieves second C-Scope Award.
    Starts building experimental specialized detection equipment: human presence, water, and plastic locators Bronze Medal at INPEX (Invention New Products Exhibition).
    Started working on the Trackman Game Locator.
    Starts work on Waterscope technology, and comes out with a working model.
    Revieves numerous scholarships from INPEX.
    Waterscope is shown on the NBC Today Show.
    Becomes first American Inventor in 26 years to be awarded a medal at IENA in Nuremburg, Germany.

  • 1993-1994
    Very busy with prodcution of current models and creation of new ones.

  • 1995
    Trackman locators begin production.

  • 1996
    Trackman sales begin.
    Human presence indicator research and development intensifies.
    Afilani attends Eurosatory in Paris, and receives intense intrest from foreign military and governments.
    Twice Thomas Demonstrates Human Presence Indicator at FBI Academy.
    Dr. George Johnson completes technology survey on Human Presence Indicator.Organized Trackman Game Locator sales team spanning all states east of the Mississippi. Gave rights to sell human detector to start-up company. Patent filed for device and method using dielectrokinesis to locate entities November 27th.

  • 1997
    Story runs on ABC on human locator. Patent filed for selective polarization matching filter for triggering and maximizing rapid dielectrokinesis response on April 24 th. Invented plastic detector that could discriminate between ABS and PVC; originally designed for mine detection. Patent filed for static electrification assisted dielectrokinesis detection of plastics and other materials on April 28 th. Patent filed for metering circuit to detect dielectrokinetic response on August 25 th . Three patents filed for locator device; one on September 11 th two on September 12th.

  • 1998
    Patents filed for inanimate entity line-of-bearing location method via linking material-specific non-uniform static electrification spatial gradient pattern to dielectrophoresis and animate entity's line-of-bearing location device and method linking species-specific non-uniform-electric field pattern of heart's ECG to dielectrophoresis on May 4 th. Patent approved for device and method using dielectrokinesis to locate entities May 5th. Filed entity locator unit patent August 18 th. Two patents approved for locator device on November 17th.

  • 1999
    Patent approved for locator device on February 23 rd. Filed patent for TimeWalker treadmill on April 14th. Patent approved for static electrification assisted dielectrokinesis detection of plastics and other materials on May 25th.

  • 2000
    Invented Gravitator Recovery System. Patent approved for metering circuit to detect dielectrokinetic response on January 4th . Patent for entity locator unit approved January 11 th. Patent approved for TimeWalker treadmill on February 15th. Patent filed for selective polarization matching filter with an electret for triggering and optimizing rapid dielectrokinesis response on March 29 th. Patent approved for selective polarization matching filter for triggering and maximizing rapid dielectrokinesis response on June 20th. Patent filed for method and apparatus using laser enhanced dielectrokinesis to locate entities on September 21 st.

  • 2001
    Demonstrated to one of the world’s largest defense contractors the human locator and Silent Guard electrostatic system. Human locator systems were used by a rescue team at Ground Zero, World Trade Center.

  • 2002
    Created 900 acre Fantasy Quest Treasure Hunting Preserve. Patent approved for selective polarization matching filter with an electret for triggering and optimizing rapid dielectrokinesis response on June 25th. Patent approved for method and apparatus using laser enhanced dielectrokinesis to locate entities on December 17 th.

  • 2003
    Working on new facility.

  • 2004
    Revamped Plantatorium, award winning invention. Updated many of Electroscope’s systems. Patent approved for inanimate entity line-of-bearing location method via linking material-specific non-uniform static electrification spatial gradient pattern to dielectrophoresis on January 6th. Patent approved for animate entity's line-of-bearing location device and method linking species-specific non-uniform-electric field pattern of heart's ECG to dielectrophoresis on February 3 rd.

  • 2005
    Working on advanced human detection system.
